NiWARD aims to build partnerships with government agencies and bodies, academic institutions, non-governmental organizations, faith-based groups, and the private sector. Our Fellows, Mentors and Mentees have years of experiences, diverse specialized skills, and solid relationships with different stakeholders in the Nigerian agricultural sector that can be leveraged for sustainable economic development.
We plan to work with Nigerian government to support and help rural farmers through the provision of scientific knowledge and financial instruments to be more productive thereby increase their yield and spur national economic growth. We are not duplicating the government’s efforts, NiWARD is filling the gaps especially in the rural agricultural sector by creating and managing rural women farmers networks, fostering peer to peer knowledge transfer, and ensuring the implementation of targeted empowerment policies. Going beyond poverty reduction and pushing for holistic development and moving NiWARD participants, scientists and rural farming communities into new classes of income to build healthy and economically stable families.
We are ready to partner with the private sector to develop local agricultural techniques that can boost production. Additionally, working together to scale up successful agricultural research projects. By investing in NiWARD, businesses are building loyal consumers and building brand affinity.
We also welcome opportunities to partner with non-governmental organizations and faith-based groups to increase our impact in communities. We are willing to engage in joint projects and each body can bring their expertise to bear on the task at hand – transforming the agricultural sector in Nigeria.
